Maintenance For The Beginner
Congratulations on
purchasing your new computer. This website is designed to help you
set up your new PC and keep it running like new with free programs,
free downloads, tutorials and utilities that are all FREE. I will try to
help you understand the basics and keep your computer virus free
and free of adware and spyware and how to prevent identity
theft. The navigation column on the
left has topics that you may click on and they will take you the
page to explain them.
You may ask
why would I create this website and what is the catch? For
one, website hosting really costs very little. This site only
costs about $60 a year total cost and is advertiser supported.
You will see my sponsor's ads on the pages here and there. You
will find "Ads by Google" and assorted other
companies that contribute towards my hosting costs pennies at
a time. One way of paying off hosting costs is adding an affiliate program to

I do not claim to be an expert, nor can I solve every problem
with your computer. Actually, I have no formal training at
all. I just have gathered some valuable information that I
would like to pass on to beginners. I am living proof that a
regular guy with no computer experience can safely own and
maintain a personal computer. The PC is a very valuable tool,
and that is just what it is; a tool. Like all tools, it needs
upkeep and regular maintenance.
So
let the surfing begin! My biggest helpful hint is "Do not
be afraid to click on something!" Staring at a link or a
button will get you nowhere. As long as your computer is
protected from viruses, spyware
and scumware, you have nothing to be
afraid of.
A computer course at a community college would not
hurt. Also,
remember the internet is self-teaching, if you do not understand
a subject, term or phrase, copy it and paste it into the Google
